| As many of you know I had a index finger joint replacement 5 months ago and I'm trying to get it "working" again. I'm thinking about the Joe Wright finger "drills" that I've heard mentioned before,,but not sure if I could do them, or they would help. Is there anyone who could email me a "sample" page to kinda see if it would be something I could do? |

Joe’s free lessons are still available online. These are not from the book I have. The graphics here are lower quality, but the lessons are very similar.

I have his “My Approach†eBook. Just recently started getting religious with it, especially RH technique. If your new joint allows normal movement of the finger in all 3 joints, I can’t imagine that Joe’s method wouldn’t help you. |

| Thanks Fred,,unfortunately joints are very uncooperative,,,it's amazing how intricate the muscles, tendons act to make the movements we require. The mechanism in the finger VERY complex. I'm just trying to find something to work on to get some of the movement back. |

| One aspect of every good guitar teacher’s philosophy regarding technique is to break things down to the smallest possible movements. Once you develop control of them at that level you build from there. That’s where Joe’s lessons are coming from. If you are trying rebuild the foundation of your technique around a physical limitation, this is the way to go. I know it’s been a hard road for you these last couple of years, Sonny. Good luck. |
