David, yours cost more because, it has the high profile neck with split tuning, 9 pedals, likely at least 8 knee levers, oh, and don't forget, the lacquer cabinet.

That doesn't look like the special neck and I see no split screws. That neck looks just like mine with the rounded corners.

Richard yes you right on ...no premium edge neck or split screws ...it is one of the Timeless Timber builds with LXR -16 pickups...and that pretty much sums it up...wishing now that I had never posted this...David...

Your Sheltie looks exactly like Sterling, my best friend from '96 to '07! He used to love sleeping while I was practicing Smile

Thank you bOb...yes it is a gorgeous steel a lot more guitar than I ever deserved ...Shelties well with over 30+ years of raising them ..( still have four here at the Fur Ball Ranch Steel takes a back seat ) always has...my favourite forum sorry guys not this one but the the Sheltie forum is where I hang out mainly eight Shelties have adorned our lives through the years..back to Carter Steels I will add that Bud Carter was without question to me one of the finest people I have talked with when my Steel was being built twice I spoke with him we talked about fishing very little Steel talk ...he treated me as if I was Buddy Emmons...he will be remembered in high regard to me....and he sure knew about building Steels ....thanks to all here...David...

Wonderful! Fur ball ranch indeed! When the dot com bubble crashed in 2000 we couldn't afford to take trips to the groomer so I bought a grooming kit and took over. Grooming 4 shelties took me all day Winking

Wonderful! I used to say our house belonged to our Shelties and they used to let us live there Winking

Is that a couple blue merles I see on the couch? All of ours were mahogany sables though we almost bought a blue merle once...

They're beautiful! When we were looking for our 6th Sheltie we found someone with a litter including a couple blue merles so went to check them out. It wasn't a professional breeder and their house was honestly filthy so we decided to pass and wound up with another mahogany sable from a reputable breeder.

Nowadays we rescue our dogs from shelters rather than buying pure breeds...but...you never know, someday I might take the plunge back into the Sheltie world...or really go for the breed I've always wanted to own...an Afghan Hound Winking
