In pretty good shape for an 85 year old guitar...

As a guy who likes 12 strings, I have often looked at this guitar (except I have seen it on Reverb) and wondered what the seller could be thinking.

Pricing is always subjective, but I’ve not seen something quite this out of touch in a while.

Yeah, this one's been around for quite a while.

Note that the listing states the metal is chrome plated which would certainly be unique and add to the possible value and desirability of the guitar.

It looks pretty slick. There's probably a buyer out there somewhere.

IMO:
At the listed price this might appeal to a collector I suppose. A PSG player could get a U12 Sierra that will do all of that at 1/2 the price and weight, and will play easier.

"Yeah, this one's been around for quite a while. "

And at that price, I'm sure it's gonna be around for a good long time.
Be easier to find a woman without a Black eye at a NASCAR event than to find a buyer at that price.

sent this guy a message and here's his reply. it doesn't explain the ridiculous price but he seems to think it's justified. smh

"The Sho-Bud has been completely redone with all new hardware. All the hardware is chromed and the guitar itself is in premier condition. The wood itself in the guitar is 85 years old and had been a piece Shot Jackson himself had saved for "something special". This guitar was it! Its the first Sho-Bud to feature triple raises and double lowers (possibly the only) with the addition of helper springs and the original grover tuners."
