Not sure if anyone is interested in my new project,I recently picked up this stunning looking Springfield D10 and ,at the moment it has 3x4,but over the next few weeks I am going to put the undercarriage back to original,a previous owner removed all the original parts from under the steel and put a different pull system on,but it is ok and plays quite well, but is hard to adjust the tuning as it is,so I think it will be better with all the original parts, and luckily all the original undercarriage came with it,pedals bellcranks ect,The System is very similar to the Blanton steel,

Strange.. Square cross shafts, yet I see some MSA looking bellcranks, and Bud barrels and round pullers...
Looks like someone put it together at some point using whatever good quality parts they could acquire... It certainly is not cobbled together, and looks well done.. Not familiar with the Springfield brand.. Is it a European built guitar?........ bob

Hi Bob it’s been a while, hope you are keeping well and keeping safe, the steel was made in the UK by a guy called James Kerr, and you are correct the chap who had it before me used all good quality parts he even replaced the original wooden necks for Mullen aluminium necks, and the steel looks stunning, and as I said it played pretty good, but is was a bit fiddly to tune because the Sho-Bud barrels are a little hard to turn to tune the lower strings.

Take care .

Jimmy.
