Jim Boen was a friend of mine. He built his guitars from MSA inventory in his shop. They were great but heavy as a boat anchor. He also produced some great lap steels. Reece Anderson played one. Jerry Roller is wealth of information on Jim Boen for sure.

Thanks John for the information. I play an 1980 MSA universal and now that you mention it I can the MSA parts even in the poor quality pictures i received. You were blessed to have known one of the great founders of the Pedal Steel. A lot tried but few at the onset still have their steels being played! The shot of the bottom of the Boen was so dark and blurry that I didn't post it but it looked like square bell crank rods with longer than MSA rod attachment fingers. Again thanks George "Jones" Geisser
