Any chance of a 12 string narrow mount for my S-12 Sho Buds?

My pre-RP Mullen D12 has narrow pickup cavities, like Groover's Sho-Buds. Following this thread so I know when I can order one.

John, the 12 string narrow mount in 94 mm spacing is available, I have added all the info to the first post of this thread including a mounting dimensions drawing. The 94 mm should fit the Mullen spacing no problem and mounting is industry standard narrow mount dimensions per the drawing.

Got mine Friday, popped it in, tuned up for Tennessee Waltz and got rich nicely voiced/balanced mids and bass and beautiful clear treble up into Hughey land, I already told Scott it's a sonic masterpiece.

Will be ordering more!

Larry,

I could do a CE 10 in white no problem, would just be the same adder to do the clear coat as for the Z pickups. As I discussed way back on page 1 white 3d printed parts need clear coat or they are are really good at picking up stains, dirt, etc.

Email me at scott_swartz@hotmail.com or scott@steeltronics.com and we can make it happen.

I will change the e-commerce site to reflect this also.

I have introduced another option on the Z Series - Low Profile !

In response to requests from owners of multiple brands, I developed a version that is only 0.85 inch thick including the thickness for the shielded cable underneath and the guard that keeps the wire connections from grounding out, see pics below. This pickup will work great for steels with only one inch of depth available for the pickup, including at least some GFIs, Performance, others while still allowing at least 1/8 clearance from the strings.

This version uses magnets calibrated to provide the same field as the original Z Series, and I wind it to the same inductance, giving a nearly identical tonal response.

I can do any of of the Z Series pickups with this option.

Another happy Steeltronics customer!

Scott worked with me on building a pickup that would fit in the oddball Kline pickup cavity. Not only did he make one that fit, but also added the ability to adjust the height, something that most Kline owners haven't had the luxury of experiencing on their guitars.

I can't get over how good it looks on the guitar, but more importantly, how good it sounds. Total ZB vibe! I feel like this is the pickup the Kline needed!

Happy customer!

I have been trying all types of pickups in my Sierra Session 10 in an attempt to get something like what my 68/69 ZB D11 gives. Unfortunately, the Sierra modular pickups are not terribly common and the old ZB pickup wouldn't fit in the carrier.

Back in November I asked Scott if it would be possible to put one of his Z pickups in a carrier or make the appropriate carrier. He said he had been thinking about it and I sent him all the dimensions, a Solidworks model of the carrier, a spare carrier and some example modular pickups. Scott came up with his own design and it works and sounds great!

I also ordered a regular Z pickup to put into the Zum Encore that came with a humbucker. It barely fit, but sounds great as well. I would recommend maybe trying Scotts low profile Z pickup for fitting into the Zum Encore unless you want the pickup spaced the thickness of a quarter under the strings.

I am really happy with Scott's work. I know nothing will make any other guitar sound like the ZB D11, but the Steeltronics really put a lot of life into both the Sierra and the Zum. I will likely try out one of his CE10 pickups to put into an Emmons PP loafer that has a humbucker in it now.

Now, is there anyone who can bottle the tone out of a fender 400? This thing won't fit Shocked

Addiction is real: 68/69 ZB Custom D11, 93 Sierra Session S10, 65 Fender 400, 2020 Zum Encore, 75 Emmons D10, 76 Emmons converted loafer.

Bump it up, and I also wanted to announce the availability of a Z Series pickup that fits vintage ZB steels. Obviously I started this adventure to bring the ZB sound to modern guitars and mounting formats, but had a couple requests and put together a model to fit. Here is one I just shipped in white, black is also available:

Pole spacing is 77.8 mm or 3.06 inches, and the mounting pattern is 1-1/8 x 3-9/16, which should fit most vintage ZBs.

Here is the link for it on my webstore
