Here’s a video I put together which includes a tutorial of “Polkadots and Moonbeams†for E9. There are a couple spots where blocking with the left thumb comes in pretty handy, and I thought I might share this on Forum. Maybe this is totally yesterday’s news, but it maybe novel to some.

Yup, I too find that the left thumb block can come in very handy in certain situations. That and the left index finger block for a high string on occasion (that comes in especially handy for those of us wearing 3 finger picks). Probably not considered great technique, but I tend to do whatever I can that gets the job done.
