I recently acquired this guitar. it is a Marrs Cat-can, dobro shaped steel .

It has been modified . the formica is not original. I am certain. The whole guitar has nearly been formica covered. The cover plate may not be original.

I have contacted a few people I believe to be associated with this guitar but I have got no response. I do believe it belonged to Nashville musician Chas Williams at one point and that he and Joe Glaser may have done the modifications. I have tried contacting Chas and Jeff but have yet to receive any reply.

I also contacted Jeff Surrat who was very nice, but couldn't tell me about the instrument.

I like the guitar. I intend to keep it and play it. I am just very curious about it. Has any one see a Marrs, cat-can , that is dobro-shaped, other than this one?

I'd like to be able to put a value on it( if thats even possible.) and know its age. and anything else of interest.

Thank you!

Stephen
