Here are some of the old guys picking in the "Back Room" in 1993, just before most passed away.
On the Emmons steel is my mentor and father figure, Mac Atcheson. One of the greatest pickers ever for that era.

Sadly, with the exception of Carl Dixon (red hat), all these friends are now gone.

Most important, listen to the touch/tone/execution by Mac.

Enjoy

Bill, That video really hits the ball out of the park.
Mac's Perdido is the best I've ever heard. Did he ever make studio recordings?

Thanks Bill for posting this. I am not familiar with Mac but he was a good picker for sure.

Hi Blake,
I thought you might like this.

Mac never did any recording except like this.
He never felt his playing was up to par for anyone else to listen to.

There's some Georgia Jamboree transcriptions out there with Mac on steel and Junebug Thomas on guitar. Songs like Cattle Call and I Can't Go On This Way.

Not sure of the year, maybe around 1950.
