I was doodling around with my Emmons SD-10 PP and the pickup was picking up the pedal noise. I foond a real cheap way to fix it. I had purchase some drip line tubing used in sprinkler systems at Lowes several years ago for making puppet arm rods. (That's right. I'm a Ventriloquist besides being a musician) it's 1/8 inch rubber tubing and fits perfectly under any pickup to isolalate it from the body. Just cut a few 1/8 inch pieces and voila quiet pedals. The stuff costs less than $10 and will last forever.

Not sure if the Emmons pickup is wax potted or not but the lack of potting makes a pickup microphonic. If you can shout into your pickup and your voice comes out of the amp your pickup is likely not potted. Saturating in melted wax immobilizes the windings so they don't move as easily with vibration.
If you decide to pot your pickup, look it up. Use a double boiler to avoid raising the temperature of the wax to the point it bursts into flames.

Meant to say that's a clever fix you have too.
