Today we did a sneak preview of my latest creation, the p2pAmps “Bad-Dawg” amp. This is a 100watt tube amp that will ultimately come in a 1x12, 2x12, or head unit.

We tested this through a number of different speakers and cabinets. The amp features things like a presence control, 3 knob reverb controls, ½ power, multi impedance, and a single channel.

The chassis is filled with Jensen paper in oil capacitors and some other high-end parts to make this the ultimate in tube amplifiers.

My dear friend Randal Beavers and Wayne Dahl stopped by for a test drive and this is what it sounds like recorded with an iPhone. The beautiful harmonic tones of this amp have to be heard firsthand to be appreciated.

I hope to have the cabinet completed with the next few weeks so sit back and take a listen to Randy and the p2p Bad-Dawg.

Sounds awesome, Mike. And what can one say about Randy's playing? It's not of this world.

VERY nice! Also nice to see unique aesthetics. It's obviously not a Fender or Marshall clone.

Please contact me with a PM for pricing. I do not publish prices as these are custom built to customer needs and therefore parts etc do vary. Thanks Mike

Congratulations Mike...that is really a bad-dawg. It sounded great in the 1x12 closed back speaker and I betcha it would have sounded just as good in the 2x12 cab with not much of a
little tweak on the tone controls.
And BTW the chassis is mighty handsome too.

I like the reverb length being adjustable. Contemporary pans tend to be too long and your 3 knob adjustment looks great.

Thanks everyone! I am very excited about this amp as it has fully exceeded my expectations. And ole Randy is a great player and guy to demo what it can sound like. I will post more pictures once I finish the cabinets

Mike; What has your amp done to Randy’s playing??... somehow made it even more beautiful!! You are a great addition to this world of pedal steel, all your projects have the highest standard of quality and workmanship, look forward to your completion of these and be sure to make a head format, I have a lot of speaker cabinets!!.. lol! Randy, such beautiful playing as always great tone and control!

I loved the tone. Please tell what 12" speaker Randy was playing. He mentioned he liked it better than the 2 12's. I too felt it was the best fit.

The speakers we were using and the ones I personally like the best is the Eminence Wheelhouse 150. It is a 12" speaker at 8Ω impedance. They also make a 15" called the Wheelhouse 200 which I have not tried yet. Thanks for your comment Smile

Cheers

Was the cabinet that it was in closed back or open?

Thanks for the response. I really like the way it handled the various frequencies. Very impressive for a 12” speaker. Now I need to get Tommy Huff to build me a cabinet!

I just ordered my new Bad Dawg combo , with 15” speaker from Mike ... if it’s good enough for some of the best pro players in Nashville , it’s got to be good enough for me 😊... I love the look of the amp, and tone is unbelievable ... it doesn’t hurt that Mike is a great guy, and a good friend ...

I will be posting some more pictures after I get the amp, and I may post a video or two as well... these are fantastic amps , and I can’t wait to get mine ...

yes, that one is yours, I liked the look of your 2x12 and decided to have mine done like yours … but since mine is 1x15 Mike had to change the front design to accommodate a bigger speaker

Good Lord! What a sound. I'm such a gearhead....been watching and listening to this amp here since it's introduction.

I ain't no Randy, Wayne or Travis etc., but if I had the jack, I'd be all over that head that Heff has for sale over in the classifieds.

I'm guessing that with the half power feature, this would also be terrific for guitar and lap steel as well.

Maybe I'll hit a scratch off or something.😏

The head Heff has is great and is loaded with Jensen oil capacitors!. Plus, my cost to build is rising so this is a great chance to get an awesome amp...
