Julian was in Ray's show band in 1970, that's where he and I met. Ray was carrying a rhythm section of Blondie and Ferdie Calderon on piano and bass, and Julian on steel. Maybe a rhythm guitar. The rest of the orchestra was from the San Diego Symphony as I recall.

When I saw Ray in 1970 the only difference was he was using a string quartet from the Atlanta Symphony. Great show I will never forget it.
