Someone asked,

This is a plywood, three layer bass. Similar in construction to a Kay bass, although the neck is wider than a Kay.

Things are beginning to open up a little. Anyone need a upright bass? Would be great for bluegrass with a slight bridge height adjustment.

I'm in Medina County, Ohio. I have a beautiful Lakland Skyline five-string, natural body, maple neck, hasn't left my smoke-free temp-controlled studio for 15 years. Pickups were upgraded from the (I feel) dullish Bartolini's to the crisper active EMG's. 35 inch scale, nice wide fretboard, low B string doesn't flop all over the place.

Chris, Marvin and I've decided to do a "mutual test drive" of each other's instruments. He and my daughter live close to each other so I'm taking it down there soon. If that falls through, we can talk about shipping my Lakland down to Oklahoma. It's a beauty, with a wide but flat neck that is so easy to play, all the way up the neck. I just don't play anything other than steel these days and have been asked to join a regular weekly gig as a "tub-thumper" upright player.
