I have a 1930s 1.5" 7-string horseshoe pickup from my B-7 that all of a sudden started sounding thin and dirty, with much lower output. I had another one a while back that I had sent to Jason Lollar when it started doing something similar. According to Jason, a number of these were made in such a way the ground connection from the coil is transferred from the bottom of one of the outside pole pieces to the metal shoe which has a ground attached to that rather than from the coil directly. He was able to fix it and send it back to me, no problem. Unfortunately, it seems he is no longer doing these repairs. He referred me to Jason Novak, and I left a message using the website form, but have not yet gotten any response.
Does anybody have any ideas who might be good to fix old Ric horseshoe pickups?
