I have another beautiful Professional for sale. This guitar is an exceptionally clean old Bud. The finish is gorgeous. There are very few bar dings and the undercarriage is as clean as I’ve seen. Sounds great and plays great. The case is even in great shape. It was built originally with two knee levers so I’ve added two new knee levers. Yesterday was it’s 46 Birthday.

One thing about it, their is no other Pedal Steel that can compare to the sound. Wood necks and rack and barrels. And of course, it is a Bud!!!!

I have a February '74 LDG with the same names on the label, and after contacting Gene Haugh about the label in mine, he wrote back and said:
"Don’t know who PM was. The steel was checked by Yasu Kameya."
If anyone knows who PM was, I'd be interested in knowing!

Possibly could it be "DM"? Beautiful guitar anyway.

Mine looks exactly like the one above, and I suppose it could! Would the year be during his tenure ? Thanks!

Ron, this is not only a gorgeous Professional, but it may be one of the last ones built.

In January of '74 I was doing a gig in Las Vegas, and the band I was playing with was opening for Johnny Paycheck. Doug Jernigan was on steel, and he had a blonde/blue Pro II with barrels and two hole pullers. I had a peek under the steel and that was the first time I had ever seen that system.
Some things you remember like it was yesterday, and that's one of them.

Good luck with the sale... someone's gonna get a gem.

Skip are you talking about this Pro II ??

As that was the Pro II Shot built for Doug and when he turned it in(that's what you did back then when you were endorsing);Shot gave it to big Jim Murphy. And so Murph gave it to me when he lived here; to set up and fix it up for him to play; as it sat in storage for many many years; and so there you are looking at it after I got done...
And yes; that is 10 pedals and 8 knee levers on a barrel tuning Pro II....BAM!!!!

That's the one!
I took a peek under the hood, expecting to see racks & barrels. When I saw the new pulling system, I felt like I had just seen a UFO...

Way cool skip. Murph loved this guitar. When he passed; his family took everything(I had 3 of his pedal steels as I always kept them up for him) and most likely sitting in a closet/warehouse somewhere as non of the kids/grandkids play..etc. He said that originally it was kind of a teal blue/green food coloring(that's what shobud stained with then...ha..)but faded to that greenish...very pretty.

SORRY RON
For me busting in here with another story; but let me say this from my experience in restoring Sho~bud for 20 years.
This Professional you have for sale here is absolutely stunning and UNTOUCHED. The finest ORIGINAL sample I have ever seen with a Sho~bud Professional.....it is worth almost twice that amount in SOUND ONLY....!!!! It will blow any modern steel off the stage in sound and character.
PERIOD!!!!!!!!

Any post from you is welcome. I will agree this guitar is the cleanest I've had in my posession. Everything original but the two new knees.

TTT. One last go. It’s too nice of a guitar to sell for less. I’ll take it to a local store.
