Not sure if this has been posted anywhere yet, but my friend Jerry Wallace, steel guitarist and builder of Wallace Truetone Pickups, passed away Friday February 7th after a lengthy battle with cancer. Prayers for his family would be greatly appreciated. He was a great man and will be missed by many! His son Robbie is one of my oldest friends and let us know about his passing this morning.

Good Man, and always made me feel like I lived next door to him when doing business with him. I considered him a friend even though we never met in person.....

Very sad news for the steel guitar fraternity. Jerry's products were top class, and he was always very helpful and a good person to deal with. Crying or Very sad

Sad news Indeed😔 Years ago Jerry rewound a couple S~B pickups for my SuperPro. He pulled the pole pieces up so they are about 1/8th” above top plate and just sound wonderful. He had gotten so busy with his TrueTone line that he couldn’t take on a couple more I had. We’ll miss you Jerry and hopefully someone can carry on your fine work. Prayers for his family, til we meet again.

Oh no; my heart is hurting bad. Jerry and I did so much work together in the last 15 years; as he/we designed the best TrueTone Pickup ohmage for the Sho~bud and he was the only one that would re-wind an original sho~bud pickup for me and include the 3-wire coil tap; and always chewed me out a little about that 3rd wire...I can still hear him; but he would still always do it for me. Ok now I'm crying.
I love you Jerry; I will think about you every day and PLEASE; Go Rest High On That Mountain.
RIP.
Ricky

Oh boy, bad news after bad news in our community.. I used Jerry's pickup for years.. Other steel players loved the sound of my Truetone equipped steels, so Jerry certainly did something right... Big shoes to fill, when it comes to making good quality, classic sounding single coil steel guitar pickups... bob

Dude was a master. I've got one Bud rewind and one odd egg he made for me out of a failing GL TPPP. He was a hell of an asset to our community.

that is very sad news, I used his pickups enywhere I could... Mr. Papić used True Tone pickups as a standard pickup on all of his Promat guitars , and I have them on my Promat today as well as in all the other Promat guitars I bought in the past ... RIP Jerry 😔.
