DADACD
(low to high)

Similar to DACDAD, but this tuning gives you a two octave D5 power chord on the bottom for some extreme rawkin’

Lots of fun playing along with blues backing tracks, or just improvising solo.

Just curious if anyone else has had a go at this tuning?

It’s probably not a tuning that anyone would keep as their primary tuning, but I enjoyed playing with it... wonder if anyone else here tried it out.

A year later, and I'm back to it again. It's actually pretty good for blues, whether major or minor. The modal D, with the addition of the flatted 7 makes up for the colour missing from modal dyad tuning, like DADDAD.

If one wanted to, the C could replace any of the Ds, for example DACDAD, might work better from somebody. If one normally uses DADGAD as modal (sus4) tuning, it might be fun to try DACGAD--though that might be easier to handle on a fretted guitar.

Anyway, just another (possibly) useless footnote in my lap steel adventures.
