If you were going to recone a JBL, would you get the usual aluminum dust cap or cloth?

Would there be much of a difference in sound between the aluminum and cloth?

Who would you recommend for reconing services in the Dallas or Austin area?

Thanks,

Don

I use Ken in Austin. He has always done great work for me. He really knows his JBLs !

It is best to call him. He is not much of an internet guy.

Just a "me, too". There are four JBL speakers in the house that have had their foam surrounds replaced by him. All of them are just fine.

I've reconed several JBL speakers.
www.soundspeakerrepair.com is the place to go.
They have some great recone kits and I stayed with the aluminum dust cap.
Just do it yourself, it's really no big deal. Very Happy

Don,

Since you are in the D/FW area I recommend Freeman Tuell service in East Dallas. Have been in business for many years and have a stellar reputation. Check them out on the web.

regards,
