For anyone interested in playing traditional jazz on non-pedal steel guitar, registration opens today for the 2020 Red Hot Strings Workshop in Port Townsend, WA (May 20-24).

Last yearâ€™s workshop sold out and I expect it will again. A limited number of scholarships are available on a first-come-first-serve basis, so sign up soon.

Note: You donâ€™t have to commit to one instrument and can enroll in multiple classes throughout the week. Iâ€™ll be leading the steel guitar course, but I highly encourage dropping in on classes with the other amazing instructions, including artistic curator for the program, guitaristÂ Matt Munisteri; guitaristÂ Albanie Falletta; guitaristÂ Joel Paterson; violinistÂ Gabe Terracciano; mandolinistÂ Dennis Lichtman; bassistÂ Matt Weiner, and tenor banjoistÂ Tyler Jackson.
