Topic: Pedal Steel Tech in Alberta Canada |

Anyone working on pedal steels in Alberta? I'm in Edmonton and have a few things I'd like to have looked at on my LDG, but can't justify shipping both ways to Al Brisco in Ontario (shipping rates in Canada are insane).
Ideally, I'd like to do the work myself with the advise of someone locally. My issue is that, between work, kids, band and woodshedding time, I don't have a lot of time to tinker with the mechanics at the moment. |

I wouldn't say I'm having issues, I just want to try to make some tweaks to make certain things play easier. For example, I've been using my C pedal more, but it feels noticeably stiffer than my A & B. Based on the options I have (2 raise, 1 lower and 2 hole puller), there are limitations and tradeoffs on the C pedal (both raises are used on the 4 and 5 strings).
Basically, I'd like to go over it with someone locally if possible, so that I can go over some possible solutions. It's my only steel, and i need it weekly for band stuff, so I don't want to end up in a position where it's worse.
It generally plays really well, at this point I'm more interested in fine tuning options to help it play better for me. |

Gavin Dunn, forum member.
He's a steel player and a guitar tech upstairs at Acoustic Music on Whyte.
He did an awesome job of getting my old used MSA Classic into great shape when I bought it from them a couple of years ago. |

| Thanks, I do know Gavin and have talked to him a few times about pedal steel. Maybe I’ll see if he’s got some time to go over it with me. I also contacted Jeff Bradshaw who offered to give me some pointers. |

On a similar note I hear you know something about Emmon's Pushpulls. I have an S12 Uni I'd like to tear down and reconfigure but am afraid to. I think I might be looking for moral support.. ! |
