Any ideas what the steel player is doing here from 1:24 to 1:28? This songs is full of great licks, this one really strikes me. Seems there’s a million places to use this, and with a few tweaks you could play it 10 times a night.

Perhaps this is a question about the music industry, but why would a producer who’s a steel player hire another steel player to play on the record? Why not just play on it yourself? _________________ Mullen G2; Fender Tone Master Twin Reverb; Goodrich L-120 |

Rick; the producer wasn't "JUST" Jim Loessberg...it was also Jake; but I'm sure they "BOTH" decieded to add Doug to this; as It's not my place to tell ya'll why...ha...but Jake has had also more than 8 steel players record and play live with him and all the steel players really liked what every one of them played.

Hi Rick,
Answer number one: Doug can play circles around me.
Answer number two: I was playing drums.
We wanted to do the album with as few overdubs as possible. To be honest, I'd rather not play any instrument if I am producing a record with an entire band. It can be difficult to keep up with everything and is much more organized when I can stay in the control room.
Best wishes,
Jim |

sounds like he's going up to the 5 chord and dropping his tonic to the flat 7 over and over and then bending up to the tonic again and noodling back down to the 3rd to let it resolve. _________________ LDG Sho Bud '73, Mullen Disco, Milkman
