<strike>$3000</strike> $2750, and I'll pay shipping in continental US.
I believe this is the last Carter made. It was assembled by Al Brisco in Canada after John Fabian passed away. Beautiful sunburst cabinet by Mark Giles. It has the 4 raise, 2 lower changer. I bought it from the original owner, who never gigged with it. It's been my teaching guitar, so I never gigged with it either.
This instrument is about an inch shorter than most, which suits me fine (I'm 5' 6" tall). It was built with 5 knee levers. I added an inside LKL for the back neck. I tune the back to D6th as is my preference, but I'm willing to restring it for C6th if that's what the buyer wants. Beyond that, I don't want to change the copedent. I also added Tonealigner pickups. Includes a padded D2F dust cover. _________________ -πππ- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video

According to the serial # that steel was made on June 15, 2009. I have one made on July 8, 2010. Yours was probably the last D10 made. Al told me when I bought mine from him that he probably made it so I don't know and I'm no expert on Carter serial numbers. Mine is an S10. _________________ I don't know much but what I know I know very well.

You may be right. I don't know the actual sequence of guitars made as the Carter company closed down. It was a custom build for the original owner, who had it set up as D9th and D6th and took delivery in 2010. I switched the front neck to E9th for teaching, added a knee lever, and reconfigured the copedent to my preferences.
I love the Fender-ish sunburst finish. I'm selling it because I don't really need a D-10 to teach. Nobody wants C6th lessons around here. A student is selling me his S-10. _________________ -πππ- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

Regardless of when it was made it's a beautiful guitar. Wish it was mine but alas the grocery store needs money. _________________ I don't know much but what I know I know very well.

The back neck D6th changes are all the same as C6th, except for pedal 4 (which is very useful!). I never got the habit of C6th P4. Restringing from D6th to C6th is no big deal. P4 will then raise the middle E to F - a fairly common change among pro C6th players.
I moved the E9th ABC pedals to positions 234 and put the 2nd string C# on P1 because I don't like half stop knee levers. The D note is more useful than C# (in my opinion), so it's the one on RKR. All in all, this is a very powerful E9th. _________________ -πππ- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

Bump.... clean, loaded, beautiful D-10.
Love my '08 SD-10. But wow... 6 knees, Tone-Aligners, the Mark Giles cabinet is stunning! |

That's got to be the prettiest Carter ever made unless Al built more with the Giles bodies. |

If the height seems to be a deal-breaker...
The vertical lever is currently 24 1/4" from the floor. The length of the legs is adjustable, of course. I'd be happy to throw in a full set of Show-Pro 1" or 2" pedal rod extenders.
Also, I'll restring and tune it with 2 fresh sets of your choice from www.steelguitarshopper.com/pedal-steel _________________ -πππ- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

I've never weighed it, but I see similar Carters on the forum weighing in at 36-38 lbs, mid 50's in the case. Sounds about right. _________________ -πππ- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

B0b:
I recall threads on the Forum about Body Contact Technology that some later model Carter builds featured. And, by way of the 4 up/2 dn changer fingers evident from one pic,
do you know if this one has that optional (whether useful or not) up tick? Just curious if you might know. 🀠Thx so much. |

I believe that all of the late model Carters (excepting Carter Starter, of course) had the patented BCT changer design. _________________ -πππ- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

I bought my first Carter in late 1999 and the BCT had just been incorporated in their design. They also allowed earlier models to be modified to include this feature. BCT, means body contact technology and I'm not sure what that really means. |
