How was the 1951 bixsby pedal steel different from 1960 sho bud

I don't think Sho~Bud ever used cables.

I am not talking about cables versus rods. But history says Bud Isaacs started the pedal steel era in 1959 with "slowly" Why was the pedals on the Bixby not recognized from 1951?

Slowly came out in '53, but yes there were other pedal guitars too, like the Gibson Electra-Harp and the Harlin Multi Kord that had around been since the '30s - '40s.

I think the thing with Isaacs and Slowly is less about the genesis of pedals themselves, and more about how he used the pedals mid-song that changed the way folks thought about them.
