Folks I have a new model, the S10 Jr.
This is a very unique guitar.
It was designed for the beginner or entry level player, the young fellow wanting to play pedal steel with not much money, the older person just getting into it, and the gigging frustrated guitar player wanting to play steel guitar.
It starts out with 2 pedals and 1 knee lever, for $995.00
Add a pedal or up to 3 more knee levers for $150.00 each.
This guitar has a mica covered maple neck as well as a maple body.
It has an all pull changer and much more.
The best way to find out about these new guitars is to call me 480-986-2599
Here is a link to see the 3 S10 Jr. guitars.

Great idea and product. At a price that doesn't break the bank. Lets the new player grow by adding pedals as he wants.

As a beginner, I like your idea. The hardest barrier to overcome for me was simply finding a trustworthy guitar in my price range.

Travis, it is my sincere hopes that this guitar will help a whole lot of people get started in pedal steel guitar.
With the quality of these little guitars and the low starting price, these guitars should become a favorite of folks just starting out. Check it out

Now man,,that is a great idea,,,something that would do more to promote interest,,,and new players taking up the instrument. I think initial cost is totally prohibitive to most young players starting out,,,this way they can start with minimal capabilities (as their knowledge is minimal) and expand their guitar as their knowledge and capabilities grow, and keep the same guitar all the way through,,,Fantastic! KUDOS to Fred!!!!

Thank you Sonny and Marlin.
There are two S10~Jr. guitars left in the "No Waiting Room" and possibly one of those may be sold, we'll see.

Fred,
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for taking the time and trouble as an already established professional PSG builder, to design and build a good, affordable, entry level PSG, and especially one that's designed so that pedals and knees can be added to later. Most entry level steels are "upgrade impossible" later and you just have to buy a more expensive model later.
Some beginner's pocketbook will greatly thank you later, sir.

Perfect little guitar to put in a gig bag and carry to jams and open mics. Looks good and good price point.

Marvelous idea, Fred.

It's not being said here but I think starting on a truly minimal set-up does wonders for the learning process. I know that I benefited from starting on three-and-one. If I wanted something beyond the very basic changes I was forced to think laterally and use my ingenuity to find it.

This will be a quality product that won't be impeded mechanically as the Carter Starter undoubtedly was.
