Topic: Cleaning Mildew Stains off Vintage Tweed? |

I recently acquired a late 50s Fender steel with a vintage tweed case. Nice case, but it has black stains all over one side (what I assume came from mildew?).
Any advice on how--if at al possible--to remove or mitigate the stains?
Any advice appreciated!

Hi Mark...Ace Hardware sells a product called “30 secondsâ€.....removes mold and mildew...commonly used in Hawaii on everything....Larry

| "30 Seconds" contains Sodium Hypochlorite which makes it, essentially, bleach. Try it on an inconspicuous area before using it on the entire item... |

Mark, Try WD-40 on a small spot before you buy expensive cleaners. I had a stain on my new speaker cabinet (cat whiz) that wouldn't come off with other cleaners. No problem for WD-40. I've not tried it on mildew, but have had good luck with it. You probably have a can out in the garage? Good luck.
