In viewing the great Carl Smith videos on YouTube he always gives a lot of attention to Johnny Siebert on each song. You don't see that with other Country stars of that era. To me it seems that Carl Smith had a lot of respect for Sibert.
I don't believe I've ever Eddy Arnold or even Hank Snow giving any recognition to his sguitarist. All of their steelguist contributed to making a style that identified each artist. Are there any stories out there that explains the relationship to their bands?

There is a Ray Price video where he has Buddy Emmons up front and center. Very Happy

It's true that a lot entertainers had their steel players up front but there is something different with Carl Smith and Johnny Sibert.
