Be sure and check out all of the 3 great Buddys who have all been mentioned: Emmons, Charleton, and Cage.

Buddy Cage and Sneaky Pete for me.

Played for NRPS and the Flying Burrito Bros.

An old album cut by Duane Eddy back in 70's featuring Buddy Emmons is an outstanding record. Wish it was on a cd. I can't think of name of the album but is pure country.

Tom Brumley! Lots of videos of him on YouTube, playing with Buck Owens. And this is awesome: https://youtu.be/TFX7GvujvQI

Bud Isaacs! His instrumental stuff is great, as are his sessions for Webb Pierce.
Also Billy Robinson. They both played on some stuff by Red Foley that I dig.

Did anyone mention Jerry Byrd? That's a big one!

I'm not familiar with Apple's content but you can find plenty of great stuff on YouTube. I loved Reece Anderson and for a " little outside of the box" approaches try Julian Tharpe and Dave Easley.

Have fun checking out all of these great recommendations.

A couple more Ben Keith, Neal Flanz, Jerry Byrd, Alan Akaka, , Greg Sardinia, Casey Olson, Jay Dee Maness, Lloyd D. Greene. If you are going to mention Greg Leiz then you must mention Kirk Eipper! What about that Earnest Bovine fella!?

The sound of Pure Prairie League's John David (J.D.) Call enticed me to buy a pedal guitar back in the 70's. Check out the album Two Lane Highway on YouTube or Live! Takin' the Stage. My two favorites.
