Departing with my 1965(?) Domland Stereo pedal steel guitar. Two necks - E9 and C6, with the E9 being closer to the player. These were made by Willy Domland in the 1960's and distributed by Don Edwards of Denver, Colorado. Very cool guitar.
Rod pull. Has original late 60's Kluson Deluxe tuners. Has wear in the paint, but nothing surprising for a 54 year old instrument.
Emmons set up, 3 pedals + 3 levers for the E9, 5 pedals for the C6.
On E9:
LKL: 4 + 8 to F
RKL: 4 + 8 to Eb
RKR: 2 to D
Plays as it should, but might not hurt to get it properly set up and adjust the electronics. Not super sure what all the switches do, but it does work fine when plugged in. Pretty heavy, comes with two hard cases lined with some bitchin' tiger print. And the legs are adjustable to get the height you want. Replaced all the strings recently with Ernie Ball 2501's on the C6 and Ernie Ball 2502's on the E9.
Local pickup only, located in Ventura CA. will consider delivering within Ventura/Santa Barbara/parts of Los Angeles county. $1000 firm.

I'm not entirely sure, I flipped a few of them and it made the tone brighter/darker.

I'd have to check. I have to admit that I don't know a lot about the technical specifics. I've only been playing for a little while and haven't been using this guitar as much as I originally thought.
I should probably also reiterate that this is for local pickup in southern California, I don't have much interest in packing it up and shipping it as its quite heavy.

Hey Irv, those pickups have double row magnets maybe switches change the pickups around like on a telecaster type?

It seems to have been retrofitted with some Emmons and Sho~Bud parts for the knee levers. Very cool vintage instrument, priced right.

Erv: I'm reasonably sure the switches neutralize a positive ion charge in the area where the steel is being played, forcing the membrane between dimensions to thin and become more permeable. This allows for the consciousness of great steel players from the past to enter the consciousness of the player playing the steel.
But I could be wrong. They might just be for flipping.

I'd guess they change the tone by selecting/combining the dual coils. Probably one switch to turn on each of the two coils, and the other for changing the phase. |
