Unfortunately, Doug has succumbed to the coronavirus. People, if you're not yet taking this pandemic seriously, this is your wake-up call...

| Rest in peace my friend. He is the first friend that I knew that passed from this horrible virus. Doug was a man of God . He treated everyone with the up most respect and kindness. He also gave me the honor of playing the gospel portion of the ISGC. We will all miss you . God bless the family during this trying time in the USA. |

| I attended one of his Gospel steel shows in Indiana and had a wonderful time. Doug was a great guy and made everyone feel welcome. A great loss to our industry and the world. God bless Doug and his family. |

Lisa and I are very saddened about Doug. He not only touched my life I a profound way but left a huge legacy among many. We will miss him greatly.

| So very sorry to hear this news . . . . Doug was a fine person and admired by all. He was a big help to me many years ago when I was producing the "Gospel Steel Guitar Showcase" program for radio. Also I always enjoyed Doug's Sunday morning Worship services in the Millenium Hotel Ballroom at Scotty's ISGA in St. Louis. Everytime I see a Deckley Steel, I'll always think of him. |

It’s heartbreaking to hear of Doug’s final days without Stevie. What a wonderful human being he was! We pray especially for Doug’s beloved Stevie as she still struggles, and for the family and friends who cannot be at her side.

| Doug invited me to play his gospel show in Indianapolis many years ago. He Stevie and my wife and I became fast friends.
