I completely agree with Jims assessment, the only thing I would add, that as Steel players, if a song calls for some emulated Steel licks, intro's, turns etc...similar to "recordings" and if you can pull it off, then why not ? We are indeed supposed to be playing the song. But if the intent is to replace the Pedal Steel then that would not be good thing. We don't want to replace the Pedal Steel, and "WE CAN'T " .

A couple more Evans Pictures - My '69 Thinline reissue with a one-off custom Pull String, and a recent Fender solid-body "Mando Strat" ( some other company registered "Mandocaster" as a trademark!) with a custom Pull String Dave put together. It has a clear acrylic back/standoff and only added 9 oz of weight!

The Thinline has a 1968 Mitey-Mite neck with ebony 'board and an original Fender 1968 Bridgeplate.

I was doing some setup work on some Pull Strings forDave when he saw my electric mandolin - kept looking at it and finally said "can I take this back to the shop? I think I have an idea"Whoa!

Like I would turn THAT down! Laughing
