I message David Zornes,
and it’s not him behind the pedal steel!

Pete Drake died July on the same year this performance are from.
I don’t know how ill he was during his last period in life.

It could be Pete, but when i look on pics on him from the late 80s
It doesn’t look like him!

It seams to be the only show on Church Street Station this
pedal steel player participates in.

It's a "Brand X" steel, so it's not Pete Drake. Looks like a young PD, though.

There's a lot of these Cheyenne Saloon vids from the same time. Many of the artists used the same "house" band which included players like Phil Baugh and the Big E. Search YT for Fiddlin' Frenchie Burke and Kenny Price, Buddy is playing some great steel. Buddy is also playing behind other artists like Jimmy Dean and Johnny Russell w/o ever shining out.

Some other artists used their regular road bands, such as Gene Watson with Tiny Olson and obviously Barbara Fairchild. On her portion she shared the stage with Bobby Lord, so I don't know if it was her or Bobby's band. No idea who played steel for her at the time. Confused

Kind Regards, Walter

Yes it is probably Barbara Fairchilds steel player, or Bobby Lords..

I can’t find any information about who played with them at the time,
besides in 1983 Mike Smith played in Barbara’s band.
But i think he looks different.

Regards.

Shot Jackson used to refer to Emmons guitars as "Brand X."
