An old friend came to hear me play last weekend and brought this picture along. ...37 years ago! That me playing my white 1978 D-10 Emmons. When this picture was taken I was playing in house bands 7 nights a week. It must have been a rough week because I look like I haven't slept in three days!

Hi Craig, It probably was... but I have no recollection of the gig at all! Laughing I do remember the band but I can't remember this gig. The festival is still going strong. I played at it about six years ago with another band. That one I Do remember.

Doug, great head of hair in those days. It's fun to look back on our youth.

Hi Doug, I`ll bet you can`t tell me when was the first time I saw you play. It was when Buddy Emmons performed at Luca Music in Providence. That was also in 1982 on March 13th.

Manny, I remember that day! I went there to hear Buddy play, and he was running late because his plane had been diverted. So local players were filling in until Buddy arrived. Someone requested that I play and Scotty called me up! I played a few tunes on Scotty’s PSG but I had no chord charts for the band and I didn’t know any of the players in the band! Somehow I was able to get through it without making a fool of myself! 😎

Steven, I played that Emmons for 25 years. I had Tommy Cass rebuild it back around 1990. He also changed the formica to black... we all know that black sounds better! I sold the guitar around 2004 and went to a S-10 push pull, rosewood.

Post says “Old Picture”. But then it says 1982?

Great pic! 1982 seams like yesterday to me........sigh...I would have been just getting up from my college day nap so I could get ready to go to the dance hall.

What started the trend with the cowboy hats that looked like a pigeon had flown into the front of it. It was about the Urban Cowboy time frame.
