Good evening all.
I just bought the unique 3 neck 8 string Sierra console that Jerry Roller had listed for quite a while.
Has anyone else owned seen or heard of another 8 string single, or double, triple or quad built on a console body with no pedals or knee levers? and I mean those built that way in the beginning, not pedal steels that may have been stripped of their innards.
Pictures????
Regarding interchangeable pickups. I wonder if the same shell was used for the 8 string and the 10 string pedal steel? Also, since they seem to be coveted and hard to find, is anyone making a replacement shell? I thought someone was 3-D printing some?? |

I owned two Sierra lap steels. As I recall Tom Baker of Sierra mentioned they used 10 string pickups on their 8 string guitars. So, that being said, I would imagine a 10 string box would be an option if not the answer for your Sierra.
A 12 string box would probably work if you shortened the end that does not have he pickup contacts.
The pickup is only held in the box with a silicone gel glue or tacky putty...easy to remove. |

Thanks Tom, I was hoping that they just used the same sized box on the 8 and 10 string.
I sure hope there might be others especially with pictures, maybe I truly do have the only Sierra t-8 console???? |

Well....can anyone prove me wrong if say I own the ONLY multi-neck console steel Sierra has ever built???
To me that is so cool having such a unique instrument if this is the case.
