Though not per se a steel player, but plays tons of steel licks on the guitar, Jimmy has played beside and supported the best, Emmons, Chalker, Tommy White, Mike Johnson and on and on. He was celebrated this past weekend by his home town of Benson, N. C. On Friday they unveiled a marker in front of his childhood home and named a section of Church St. as Jimmy Capps Parkway. On Saturday he played two sold out concerts with the Malpass Brothers. On Sunday he did a video shoot with Charlie Albertson and me for the Duke University archives for scholars researching North Carolina music history. Very proud of my lifelong friend.
