Ok folks, I am digging way back (and it is obvious by the video quality).

I was there!!!! That was my 1st year at the convention and got to see my hero get inducted into the Hall of Fame. Tom was and still is such and inspiration to me and I miss his phone calls and shooting the bull. The tone he is getting on this is the best!!!! Such a great touch also that only Tom had. Thanks for posting this, brings back a lot of fond memories!!!

| The man that inspired me to play pedal steel guitar,the niceset guy I ever met, I remember back in the early seventies, I had a friend who worked at the John Wayne theatre at knotts berry farm, he would always get me back stage when Rick Nelson played there, I must have been around eighteen at the time I had just bought my first steel guitar a zb custom d10, I would follow tom around on break and we would talk steel guitars,yes I was a knowbody then, but tom allways was kind and gave me lots of his time,I miss tom, he was a steel guitar giant, and I still to this day idolize the man,thanks for posting this and Iam sure in heaven Tom is still makeing beautiful music. |
