Hi Everyone,

My email account has been hacked and it may impact some of you here on the Forum. One Forum member has already been in contact asking about this bogus request.

THE SCAM: Some idiot is claiming to be me and requesting money be sent to Gameboy while I'm on vacation. DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY! I'M NOT ON VACATION AND DON'T NEED MONEY FOR A NEICE!

Unfortunately, a good friend of ours already sent them $200 and they wanted $400 more!

I have had that happen before. I also had someone go to a casino and write a $5000 check with my name on it. That will get your attention. Had that account for years and had to start a new one. Oddly enough, the check number they used was still in my checkbook.

Having your computer hacked SUCKS. I just went thru the whole ordeal about six months ago. Very, very bad deal. New checking account, new credit cards, new pay-pal account, what a nightmare. But Thankful I did not lose any money. Within a few minutes I called everyone and froze my accounts. And then I called all three credit reporting companies and froze my credit accounts. My Bank advised that
saying the thief will apply for credit cards in you name and charge thousand's of $$ on it and you are liable for it. And if you have a very good credit rating which I did they will buy auto's and a house full of furniture and on and on by using your credit once they find you have good credit. So, I do not open any e-mails if I do not know who they are from, just delete them. I do not answer my phone if it is a number I do not know. And then I Block those numbers. So, You can never be careful enough because I though I was and then it bit me. Thanks, J.R.
