Zum Encore changing pickups question.

I'm replacing the single coil pickup with the humbucker Doug sent me. It appears that I have to drill some holes in the aluminum to mount it. I have tried emailing Doug to confirm this, but have not gotten a reply. I know he's backlogged but he usually answers quick. Has anyone installed a humbucker on their Encore, and is this what I have to do?
