For sale: Sho~Bud Crossover D-10 (circa 1968), 24” scale, rack & barrel system. It is in its original 6x1 configuration, but with a knee lever option added by a previous owner giving the P1 cross shaft the option of knee or pedal articulation. The crossover mechanism has Never been problematic for me or caused tuning issues. It does what it’s supposed to do.

I’ve also just completed a thorough removal & cleaning of all moving body parts in solvents down to the bare metal and lubricated only with a dry PTFE lubricant (NON paraffin!) where appropriate. There is no lube on/in the tuning barrels. This included a complete teardown of the changers and I’ve upgraded the rough stock bridge axles with precision ground, hardened M2 tool steel dowels.

This is no modern day Mullen or Infinity, but I’m also not asking for that kind of money. Though “old-school”, this guitar is clean, sounds great, looks great, and plays well. I certainly didn’t look this good when I turned 50!

$1250, and I will pay the shipping to the lower 48 states.

one of the changers after cleaning

this shows the added knee lever which actuates P1. Currently used for E to F raise on E9. Or, use pedal

handle not beautiful, but functional

This is the current copedent, which of course can be changed.

Hi Jack,
That’s a bit funny! I JUST NOW (prior to reading your question) sent you an e-mail as we had this conversation before a few months ago on the forum and thought you might be interested in this posting. I’ll bet the e-mails crossed in the “cloud” somewhere. The number is 7273, and again, sorry to hear about the loss of yours. Best Regards.... Mark

Is the lever on the left behind the C6 headstock for selecting which neck the pedals are operating?

Exactly! About a 45 degree twist on that lever selects the pedal/lever action between the C6 and E9 necks

How cool is that? The generation that designed these guitars were thinkers. A lot of what I love about pedal steel guitars is the sound of the linkage moving and working together. Just one more thing to love about Pedal Steel. Smile
