This guitar was formerly owned by Ray Montee, and I bought it from Ray’s family. My research, in the SGF archives and elsewhere, makes it clear that it’s tough to date the prewar steels. This one has volume and tone controls on the treble side, which leads me to believe it dates to 1939 or 1940.
As seen from the photos, the guitar is in very good cosmetic condition. Everything appears to be original. The pickup is strong and the volume and tone pots work as they should with no scratchiness. The original chipboard case comes with the guitar, but it’s in rough shape.
Asking $1,800 plus shipping.

Mark - Sorry no, but Mark Roeder (https://www.deluxe34.com) would be happy to make one for you! I have one stand which, with different brackets, can accommodate just about any guitar.
If you're truly interested, make me an offer.
