A guy takes skydiving lessons. Learns how to pack the 'chute, practicing landings from a chair, tandem jumps with an instructor. Big day for his solo arrives and he's trying to remember everything he's been taught. At last, he's out the door of the plane and is thinking: "OK, count to 3, pull the rip cord".... and the handle just comes off in his hand. He's falling like a rock and remembers the auxiliary chute. It comes out, but then immediately fouls into a mess and he's still dropping. Desperate to remember any options he may have learned, he notices a guy coming UP, passing him the other way! He calls out, "Hey, do you know anything about parachutes?" The other guy says "No, do you know anything about Coleman stoves?"

You don't have to have a parachute that opens...... Unless you want to do it twice!

Good point, Ron.

I like Godfrey's ex-skydivers checking in.

A parachute is like a gun. If you ever really need one, but don't have one, chances are you'll never need one again.
