Hey gang, I not only know this great steel personally (Jim Hollingsworth brought it to my teaching studio when he first bought it), I also have my own personal Rittenberry SD-12 8+5that I'm currently rerodding and getting to know, and can only say that its build quality is second to none!
To me, it's a great hybrid of a pre-2003 Zumsteel and a Mullen: all parts are precisely machined and anchored to the cabinet rock solid; single blade bell cranks have an amazing 9 holes, making complicated rodding relatively easy, don't think I'll need to bend any rods to circumvent already rod-full bell cranks; holds pull rods with an MSA-like swivel barrel, no fussy rod ends to complicate your life, like you find on Mullen, Carter, earlier Zum, and other brands; 3R/3L changer with split screws; super easy pedal and lever action and feel.
I wish it had 4 raises, I use several raise tuning compensators that quickly use up changer holes.
And it'd be nice if it had raise helper springs, don't think Gary ever uses those.
But those are niceties and not essential.
Anyway, this double neck Ritt of Jim's is to die for, and you're missing out on a terrific price on a terrific guitar!
Gary is also wonderful to work with, and if you need parts, his prices are very reasonable.
Here are some shots I took of it in my San Pedro, CA studio:
All best,
