By the way. one of the computers is a laptop. A dell. It wasn't working well so I took it to a repair guy who said it should be running win 7, not win 10 like I had on it so he put win 7 back on. I assume the new malwarebytes will work on win 7 as well.

I didn't get your PM, Ken.

Your tech guy has given you possibly bad advice. Windows 7 is one year from being abandoned by Microsoft. Mainstream support is already over (except for paying corporate customers). Security updates will be released throughout most of 2020. At the end of 2020, all Windows updates will cease for Windows 7, leaving those machines totally wide open to exploitation.

Anti-virus companies usually follow suit and phase out support for unsupported Microsoft platforms, as happened to Windows XP.

If your Windows 7 laptop is used for mission critical stuff, consider buying a new Windows 10 laptop and transferring your files and settings to it, then reinstall your programs.

You can deactivate licenses on the W7 laptop and activate them on W10.

Malwarebytes works on Windows 7. I was telling you that security patches and other support from Microsoft goes away in one calendar year. Eventually, other companies will drop support for that operating system. Until then, you are good to go.

Malwarebytes licenses can be moved from computer to computer. You deactivate unwanted licenses and reactivate them on new machines.
