Hi, this is a video of our campervan trip around the North Coast 500 Route in Scotland. The Route starts around Inverness, goes around the top of Scotland and back down the West Coast.
It's mostly scenic, I wrote some background music which features Pedal Steel and some Weissenborn to hopefully make it more interesting. It's more Keltic than Country and is all original material with the exception of my instrumental version of the Dougie MacLean classic Caledonia.
I uploaded it at 1080p and is best watched at this resolution.
Hope it piques your interest

Thx.....I’m going to be traveling thru Scotland during the last 2 weeks of May. Will be seeing Edinburgh, Sterling, Skye, outer Hebrides, Inverness and Cullross etc.
Aside from planning to hear trad Scots music (which I Love) would also like to hear some Steel players. Any info would be appreciated.
BTW, thanks for the audio/video scenic tour of northern Scotland...... great stuff!!! |

Beautiful scenery (including your lovely traveling companion) with a wonderful soundtrack. What a great travel video. I did have the occasional sensation of "Ack, they're on the wrong side of the road!"
My brother and I visited our ancestral ruins (castle Sinclair) near John 'O Groats back in 1980 which included a train ride up the east coast and ferry rides to the Orkneys. I hope to return someday. |

Thanks fellas, makes it worth doing when others enjoy it.
@Joe, Scotland has some outstanding scenery for a small country, I think you'd enjoy yourselves. If you're into malt whisky, you'd be spoiled for choice
@Tony, We have a Scottish steel gathering every last tuesday in the month, in a phonebox just outside of Glasgow, just kidding, in a hall in a town called Gartcosh, which is just outside Glasgow! Depending on your schedule you would be most welcome to attend. There are some fine players here and we usually have around a dozen attending.
Failing that I live about 15 miles east of Culross, in Glenrothes.
PM me nearer the time and I'll see what we can arrange.
@Bill, one side of my family are from Sutherland, on the road up to John O'Groats, it's a nice part of the country. Never been to Orkney but I know it's a really interesting place, lots of ancient ruins and standing stones etc.
We've been to the States 3 times, each time we hired a car and just toured around, Florida 1999, California 2006 and Texas in 2016 where I picked up my MSA Legend Uni from the Dallas Show, which we both enjoyed immensely. We drove down to Austin for a few days then on to San Antonio.
Will come back over again hopefully in the not too distant future, so many places to visit, such a big country. _________________ "Nothing can ever be wrong about music" - D Allman
