Asking for a friend. Very Happy

"would you know the ohms reading on a National Dynamic lap steel pickup 6 string?... a friend is restoring one and the pickup is reading 2.0k seems low ..maybe not ..my national 8 string is 4.5k but not sure about the 6 string ones."

Thanks!

I have seen one at 1.8K , so I am sure 2K is correct.

Some of the frypans and bakelites I've worked on had low readings, like down around 1500 ohms. Jason Lollar made a few for me, that were low ohms & heavier # 38 wire etc...
In those old days, the people winding the coils didn't count turns. They just winged it, like " that looks about right" Thing is, most were great sounding Very Happy
