For sale is this very rare Hendrix Voodoo Stratocaster from Fender’s original run of the guitars back in the late '90s.  It features all of the elements unique to the design of the Voodoo series, which combined a right-handed body and tremolo with a reverse headstock, reverse staggered pickup pole pieces, and a reverse slanted bridge pickup so as to recreate some of the unique sonic and tactile qualities achieved by Hendrix’s playing of right-handed strats left-handed.

This particular guitar is special in that it was custom-built for Kenny Olsen (formerly of Kid Rock’s Twisted Brown Trucker band) and I purchased it from him back in the early 2000s.  As such, the guitar is missing the engraved Jimi neckplate that these guitars typically came with.  In its place is a standard blank plate with the serial number.  It also came from the factory with a hot rails bridge pickup installed, so the typical bridge pickup with the reversed pole pieces to match the other two was never included.  The guitar currently has a DiMarzio HS-2 installed.  Condition-wise the guitar has been lovingly used but not abused.  It shows very light wear all over and has begun to acquire a nice patina over its 20-year life.  The frets show some light wear and in general, the guitar could use a set-up, but even as-is it plays great and sounds wonderful.  Very resonant and lively throughout all registers.  I'm not sure if Fender produced any other voodoo strats in this exact color combination of black and rosewood, so this could very well be a one of a kind!  It’s certainly a collector's item and great guitar sure to appreciate in years to come.

Included is the original whammy bar, four springs for the tremolo, and the original black hardshell case, also well-loved but completely functional.  Standard specs for this guitar can be found online, but feel free to ask me any questions you may have.  The neck is a nice slim to medium C-shape and the whole guitar weighs in at about 7.5 pounds. All reasonable offers welcome, thanks for looking!
