I tried out a new to me Goodrich Omni volume pedal tonight.
I really like the tone of my guitar going through it in active
mode. If I leave it in active mode (without wall wart), does the battery
continue to drain even with amp off? Does unplugging the 1/4” cables
From the pedal cause the battery not to drain? I’m trying to figure out the best practice of
Maintaining battery life.

Thanks all,
Greg

The battery will last roughly 1,000 hours of being plugged into the input- it is a mechanical jack so if you want to extend the life either plug in the supplied power supply or unplug the input jack- both methods will provide the longest battery life.

I love the sound. One thing I find different and may take a little change of technique
Is that when the Omni is backed totally off, it’s off with no sound—and then as I creep up in volume, it jumps from totally off to, say, “1” and then has a smooth sweep from 1-10. It’s the jump from 0 to 1 I’m not used to. Is this normal for the Omni (in either active or passive mode)? I backed out the stop screw a little to avoid the 0-1 jump and am seeing if I like that. I think with my old Goodrich I probably used to back it all the way off a lot and it didn’t have that jump.

Thanks,
Greg

That is a function of the pot we chose and is something we have to live with. The reliability and overall taper was the best of the 20 or so that we tried so decided to live w the early jump.
