I found these 10-32 clamping knobs at Tractor Supply. At 3/4", the only thing that would be better for me would be if I could find 1" .
For my seat, anything other than the wing nut, turned to the right orientation, will interfere with folding & unfolding the legs. Otherwise I'd love to ditch that wing nut too.

Anybody know what size wingnut is on a BMI?

There are only two options as I see it.
Either I'm right, or there is a sinister conspiracy to conceal the fact that I'm right.

I’ve done my pedal bar and seat like that for years. I can’t stand wing nuts!

if you pop off the wing-nut and take it to any hardware store, you can try different machine screws to determine the wing-nut’s size and thread pattern

Yes, good idea in theory but I live in the UK and machine screws will be in metric sizes so won't fit.
I'll have to order online blind, hence my question.

Well, I can't find anywhere online in the US where I can buy a couple of these to ship to the UK.
If any kind sould could pick up a couple (10-24 size) and ship them to me, I could Paypal them whatever it costs.
If you could help, please PM me.
Thanks.

My pro-model Emmons D-10 has the wing nuts it left the factory with in 1973. Never any issues.
On my GS-10 guitars however, 1/4 x 20 knobs have been a godsend.
