1979 Johnny Cash Christmas Special. Andy Kaufman as Elvis. Steel is best heard from about 3:30. I think it's Buddy Emmons. I can hear steel nowhere else in the show, only a bit of dobro behind Tom T. Hall earlier. Opinions?

Peter, I believe that was a track that Andy was singing to. It would probably be impossible to find out who the players were, but I will buy us all a round, If that was Buddy. No disrespect intended. Dale

I would say it's the band who backed him from the early seventies on, you know who they are. And it sounds like Buddy.

Andy was a very strange but very funny comedian. The video that Peter posted of Andy doing Elvis was good, but, if that is Buddy playing on that video......I'm going to have to apologize to Peter and hope that I don't have to buy you all a round. Smile Here is a youtube of Andy's work.
