Topic: Any tips on those sharp string ends? |

Any one have any great tips about how not to use your nand as a pin cushion everytime you accidentally hit the tuning pegs.
I try crushing the sharp ends down with the end of my bar but I still get stuck every now and then, like two minutes ago.

Try stop playing songs by "Blood, Sweat and Tears"?
After my 47th finger prick I started cutting them as close to the peg as possible after stringing up.
Then I never go anywhere near the pegs again.
I suppose wearing welding gloves is out of the question......

Yes, there are tips. That's the problem. 
You can try using a needle-nose pliers to Bend the tips over on the strings. Another method is to put a drop of super glue on each string end. Make sure to put newspaper under to catch any glue strips before it sets up.

Haven't tried it, but I'll bet a little pin-head dab of silicone caulk on each end would work.

Leave about an inch of string beyond the post-winding. Then use pliers to make a neat loop back on itself.

| Thread the new string through the tuner post so only a quarter inch is showing, then turn the key so that the string has about 2 or three wraps. Keeping it taut, install the string ball end on the changer finger and tighten so the string while letting the string nestle into roller. Stretch the string and tune to pitch |

It might be the finger you changed to when tuning the guitar after you pricked
the other one 47 times with a string end and have lost a quart of blood.

I use David Matzenik's method. This is especially important on dobro, for the safety of your band mates.

No problem.
I am still pushing on the doors at the bank labeled "Pull".
I think they might want to swap the doors for me. I get confused.
