I posted this in the No Pedal section but haven't gotten any bites yet so I thought maybe this forum is more appropriate. Basically I'm confused by how exactly the wiring works on my Magnatone...how the pickup is blended, what the capacitor does, what that resistor is for, etc. Details at the following post:
https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=338281

If any one can look at the pics, and my attempt to chart out a wiring diagram, and explain to me how it works...particularly, what goes on at each end of the tone pot, and what happens in the sweep...I'd be terribly grateful!

Looks like a fairly simple circuit. Volume functions normally, and one pickup goes through the tone control (high-cut circuit with a pot and cap), and the other goes directly to the output jack. "Blending" is done by pairing those two pickup circuits. The resistor (if it's diagrammed as shown) could be for isolation from other signal sources. It's not really needed, as all multi-input amps already have that feature at their inputs. However, I'd imagine that the resistor was originally meant to isolate the two pickups.

Maybe someone changed something?

Interesting thanks! I wondered if it might be modified. I do notice...well, on the front neck, the back is what I photographed, and I'm not sure I checked it...with the tone pot all the way up, it's bridge pickup only. All the way off is dark and "capacitory". I'm guessing in between is both pickups on, in parallel (I only say that because I don't get a big boost when they are combined as you would in series) but without the cap in much use?
